White House uses WebTrends

The Washington Post write an article today that revealed that the whitehouse web site uses a cookie to track visitors. OH NOOOO, the evil plot is exposed. Here is my Whitehouse cookie value

How nefarious is that? Look at all of my personal information they are passing back to that evil corporate giant WebTrends.

Part of what bothers me is that as americans consent to being videotaped in every store and airport in America, but when it comes to passing non-specific user data for understanding web site visitor behavior suddenly every one is up in arms. Well, we live in a sensational nation.

BTW, while reading this article you were being tracked by a cookie. If that makes you feel creepy go to Firefox>Tools>Options>Cookies and click the “clear cookies now” button. In IE go to Tools>Internet Options>General and click the “Delete Cookies” button. The next step is to not accept cookies, but I am not going to tell you how to do that because I am evil.

Albertsons knows. . .

Also, you better throw out all those “power” cards and “bonus” cards that every grocery store and drugstore hands out now days. They are tracking your behavior too.

The White House spy cookie program might just be the thing to catch Osama the Bomma with lips like a llama. Don’t think so? Well, just what is the diameter of the cookie jar opening?

Oh. Sorry. Your blog is about web business. Speaking of Albertson’s, I wouldn’t doubt that they have developed some kind of organic gps transmitter to track where the hummus goes.

I do care them tracking how many times I’ve returned to a website and what sections I go to. They can only use that information for evil.
